1. Canning Dim Sum Express Bayan Lepas

Bored of going to the same dim sum spot over and over again? Don’t worry because the food paradise has just blessed with another new place to feed our insatiable thirst for dim sum! Situated at Bayan Lepas, Canning Dim Sum offer plenty of options to choose from, and you can find only the best and freshest steamed dim sum and fried dish here. By the way, it is a pork-free restaurant!

Their signature and “wow” dish is the 5 flavours of Lau Sa Pau oozing with black sesame, salted egg, lotus, chocolate and peanut. Just a very thin layer of pau with a generous amount of fillings, surely this must be on everyone’s must-order list.

2. Sakura Bubble Tea @ Cubopark

Another new brand into the bubble milk tea scene! Sakura Bubble Tea is the first ever Japanese-Style Bubble Tea shop located in Cubopark. Their menu features a variety of milk tea with interesting flavours, ranging from Strawberry and Coffee to local favourite Uji Matcha and Brown Sugar, Yam and Sweet Potato for the health sipper and Turmeric for the adventurous buds.

Not to mention, they use the highest quality imported low-fat milk with zero artificial colourings with meticulously designed from the inside-out to deliver the finest and best flavours. Definitely a healthier treat, a break from the usual unhealthy bubble milk tea drinks we’ve been consuming. Do check them out!

3. Uncle J Cookbook @ Summerskye

Ever since its opening in Bukit Mertajam, people flock to this place for their unusual flare of cuisine – from the familiar Western food, Chinese dishes to uncommon Balinese and Portuguese delights. Good news! They recently opened a branch over at the heart of Bayan Lepas!

Yes, you no longer have to dread going all the way to Bukit Mertajam area for appetizing and mouth-watering food that Uncle J Cook Book has to offer. One of the must-order dishes is definitely their Crispy Itik Tepi Sawah, the crispiness of the skin and also the flavour will surely make you craving for more.

Located at Noordin Street, you might miss this new cafe out due to their small signage. The interior of Tastes5 is beyond amazing with old school design taking over every corner of the cafe. You will have a good time taking photos for the ‘gram right here! Nevertheless, if you want to experience authentic Italian cuisine, don’t miss out Tastes5. They serve up to 10 types of pasta, ranging from Seafood Aglio Olio, Carbonara and Arabiatta to all-time favourite Chicken Bolognese.

A cup of their fruit tea will make your worries go away, trust me. Not to mention, their taste alongside its look gives a sense of satisfaction to tummies and it’s really Instagrammable! 6. YuJo Cafe @ Cubopark

YuJo Cafe is new in the cafe scene with extraordinary dishes. With a simple but elegant interior, YuJo Cafe is a comfortable place to dine in. Some of their specialities include Chicky Rice Bowl, Tomato Tofu Rice Bowl and Beef Rice. If you’re craving for something sweet, you can opt for their Kakigori instead! You’ll be spoilt for choice at this Kakigori spot with the Neslo Gao Gao and Watermelon Kakigorì. The shaved ice tastes like freshly fallen snow – perfect for this hot season.

7. JIO Cafe

Another cute cafe and we’re super excited about what this place has to offer! The theme of the cafe is heavily influenced by the ‘Jio’ which means the fruit, banana in Hokkien. This new banana-themed cafe is definitely one of the Instagrammer’s latest favourite spots. Their brand new space is absolutely welcoming, and not to mention Instagram-worthy with the combo of yellow and pink colour that make perfect sense together.

A must-order is definitely the Lady In Red. The presentation of this dessert is the most enchanting one. First, they dipped a real rose into nitrogen liquid to harden it and then proceed to break the petals onto the plate. Trust me, your feed will look so much cooler!

8. The Warung

The Warung is no stranger to us as a unique lifestyle store featuring and sourcing products from local and small brands. But now, you can immerse yourself in good coffee and sweet treats of waffles here! A must-order here is the Mango and Berries Fruits Waffle.

The waffle is served with fresh fruits and a scoop of Haagen-Dazs ice cream dusted with crumbles and drizzled with strawberry sauce. Definitely, a nice spot to relax and have a cup of coffee here or even take pictures with their whimsical decorations.
