1. Daorae Korean BBQ

Daorae has set its foot in Penang for a long time now but their tastiness has never seemed to fail at amazing us. It is considered as one of the higher-end Korean BBQ restaurants. The waiter will assist you in your grilling so you don’t have to worry if you’re an amateur in BBQ-ing! Side dishes are complimentary and will be served again once your plate is empty or upon request.

2. KO.B.Q

KO.B.Q is located at Bayan Lepas and is a popular choice among locals. This is somewhere you can get pretty decent meats for BBQ and is not necessarily expensive. The meats have amazing textures after barbequing and do not taste dull, in fact, they’re pretty juicy!

They often have promotions where you don’t have to worry about spending too much money so be sure to keep an eye open!

3. Mr.Dakgalbi

Mr.Dakgalbi is a good choice when looking for a Halal Korean BBQ spot. Famous for their spicy stir-fried/pan grilled chickens, you can add on ramen, tteok-bokki for a fulfilling meal, sided with their all-time favorite Cheese Ring. The enjoyment of pulling the extensible melted cheese with hot and spicy grilled chicken is beyond explanations. Cho Dong Jib has 2 branches, one in  Gurney Paragon and another in Queensbay Mall, so you never have to travel too far for a taste of their authentic recipe. They use premium charcoal to make sure the taste of barbequed meats and ingredients absorb all the fiery flavors and one plus point is the cleanliness of their stores. Aza Aza might not as widely known but it might as well be one of the coziest. Run by a Korean, authentic Korean dishes and meats are served with big smiles from the waiters. The price is acceptable given that they serve with a fairly large portion. They might look ordinary from the outside but you’ll feel the aura once you stepped into it. The meats are thick and juicy, but let’s not forget to try their well-marinated chickens as well!

Miga in Penang is a small joint but it will not disappoint you after your first bite. Despite being an affordable Korean BBQ restaurant that has been popular among locals, customers praise for their amazingly big portions and friendliness of the waiters. BBQ Bar is where you can find a bar and restaurant in the same place. BBQ restaurant on the 1st floor and bar on the 2nd have attracted mortals with awe and wonder.

Despite being a bar on top, people never seemed to mind owing to the fact that the food talks! You get to witness your sticks of food being turned by the gears hidden in the machine to even the heat and fasten the process. There are lots of choices written on the menu, the hard part is to pick them because you’ll want to order all of ’em! There’ll be types of sauces and flakes on every table, don’t be afraid to try out every single one to find the one that suits you the most! The environment feels like another dimension due to its purple and blue lighting.

Not long ago, Long Time Ago set foot on Gurney Paragon Mall. ( Heh, see what I did there? ) Anyways, they’re famous for extraordinarily delicious Mongolian Lamb Skewer and it’s the one you can’t afford to miss! Much like the one mentioned earlier, it has automatic features to turn the sticks. However, this is a much brighter place and is suitable for those who enjoy a quieter place for barbeque. Unlike other BBQ joints which offer various types of dipping sauces, here you use only powder spices. That’s how confident they are with their own marinated skewers!
