Penang might be small but it is rich in culture and diversity. There are a lot of hidden gems you could discover in the nook and cranny of Penang island. Yet often times people are too focused on the hustle and bustle. Even tourists sometimes think Penang is no fun and boring, because they’re stuck in the same old recommendation. As Penang Foodie, our job is to promote our island. So here we are with Top 5 Things to Do in Penang This Week, hope this would help.
Top 5 Things to Do in Penang This Week:
#1 Largest Capsule Machine
As a kid, we’re no strangers to the capsule machines placed in front of the mini market. The joy of finding out what toy lies in the ball is indescribable. To relive your childhood, there’s a huge capsule machine awaiting you in Megamall Penang. So how tall is it? 20-feet tall (similar to a 2-storey building) my friend. Containing up to 50,000 giant capsule balls everyone gets a piece of the RM500,000 worth of prizes. You could stand a chance to walk away with Playstation 4, Huawei P20 mobile phones, bicycles or even a Perodua Axia, the grand price! Head over to Megamall now as the capsule machine will only be available one month or until all capsules run out. This could be one of the hottest things to do in Penang now.
Address: 2828, Jalan Baru, Bandar Perai Jaya, 13600 Perai, Pulau Pinang.

#2 Bridge of Hope (Jambatan Harapan)
Ever wonder what is the spiral bridge thing that you see when you drive by Queensbay? That’s Harapan Bridge (Bridge of Hope), a new bridge built for bicycles and humans ONLY. This is a new biking venue with sweeping ocean views. Also, Harapan Bridge is the only bridge in the country that was specially designed in the form of a circle. Built at a cost of RM8.9 million, it is to overcome the limited space restrictions for both cyclists and pedestrians to cross the highway (how thoughtful?). The bridge is getting more and more popular now we just have to include in our Things to Do in Penang.
