But this particular designer from Netherlands, Rommy, creates wearable food products from scratch. Now we can all walk around with our favourite food in hand!
Food-Inspired Accessories By ROMMYDEBOMMY
You must be thinking to yourself, how does this designer come up with such a unique idea? Well, Rommy started off by studying product design at a Dutch school. As she did not feel like she was able to fit in, she then quit her studies and decided to create her own brand, thus creating ROMMYDEBOMMY. Her inspiration? Instagram pastry chefs and Pinterest.
Meanwhile, her interest in food and challenges drove her to do the impossible. Instead of the usual printed fabric handbags, she created real life-size wearable food products ranging from handbags, purses to bowties. Each design on ROMMYDEBOMMY is made from hard/soft clay foam and takes 2-4 weeks to complete, single-handedly. That’s right, from creating shapes, painting to shipping, Rommy does it on her own.
As this is a one-woman business, the prices for these bags are also on a higher scale. On her official website, you can feast on a myriad of handbag designs ranging from avocado toast, waffles, fried egg in a pan to fruits and sweet treats. Food-inspired bow ties are also available!
