3. Hike up for the best view

Xplore_malaysia

Why spend that 50 bucks on cable car when all you need is some good pair of shoes, h2O, and a spiky spirit to witness a panoramic view of the island. Arguably the best-kept secret of Langkawi, a hike to the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang is a rough 980m. That doesn’t sound too bad right? Once you embark on the journey you’ll also find that the first part of the hike isn’t too challenging. But uninformed tourists who are fooled into thinking that this would be an easy hike couldn’t be further away from the truth.  Definitely not for the faint of heart but the minute you reach the top, it’ll be all worth it.

bunny_rabbithabit

if you haven’t realized, eating is actually a thing to do and we do it WELL. Plus it’ll be a sin if we don’t include Langkawi’s true gift of all: Fresh Fresh Seafood. A drive up to Kuah to Sze Chuan (Pork-free) or Teo for their seafood restaurant is worth every penny the moment the food ends up on the table. If you’re in Pantai Cenang, Kampung Siam is worth the attention. For the Pantai Kok chillers and Sheraton Hotel guest, Kapal Layar Seafood Restaurant has got your back!

9. Spread some love to the smaller islands

If you think there are humans inhabiting just the main island, you are surprisingly wrong my friend! Located 5-kilometers southwest of the Kuah Jetty, Tuba Island is just a 15-20-minute boat ride away. Similar to Singapore’s Pulau Ubin (Ubin Island), Tuba Island is one big happy island kampung (village ).

Imagine a place back in time when internet and books didn’t occupy ones mind!   Living back with a relatively traditional lifestyle on the island, villagers often venture into the forest-covered hills to gather medicinal herbs, fruits, and honey here.  Is that cool or just what ???

10. Fish like a local

Ever thought about fishing on an island that accommodates thousands of amazing species wandering and magically disappearing? The most thrilling moment for fish enthusiasts is to see fish do tail dancing as it skips across the water trying to shed off the hook. Surprisingly, fishing is not yet discovered by the crowd and that needs to be fixed ASAP!! Some say it takes passion and patience that it’s almost meditative.  Langkawi guide is one of the only tour company that offers fishing package. Check em out and this might be your new favorite thing to do!
