Ever since the implementation of MCO 2.0, the hotel industry has once again, been forced to take a hiatus. As a result of this, they would have to come up with innovative ways to stay afloat. Just last week, many hotels in George Town were spotted changing gears by opening up hawker stalls. Today, yet another hotel is joining the bandwagon. Red Rock Hotel Penang.
Red Rock Hotel Manager Promotes RM3 Hotel Fare To Survive MCO
In a video by Bernama, the hotel manager at Red Rock Hotel Penang, Jeffrey Lim was seen holding a manila card that reads RM3.00 ONLY, referring to the food they have to offer. At the same time, he was also seen verbally promoting their new venture to passersby in the area.
Setting up a stall right outside of Red Rock Hotel along Macalister Road, items such as Tomyam Bihun, Fried Rice, and Chicken Rice were seen neatly arranged in takeaway containers. Each serving is priced at only RM3. Additionally, the hotel will change its menu weekly.
Show Some Support To Local Businesses
According to Mr. Jeffrey, this is to help the hotel survive during the COVID times as well as to help out the hotel employees. Indeed, in unprecedented times like these, let us help each other out, in any way possible. So if you’re around the vicinity, do show Red Rock Hotel some support!
On a side note, other hotels in Penang are also changing gears as their chef take their skills to the street. Read about it here.
