In case you didn’t know, premises that have been listed in the HIDE system were ordered to close for 3 days, from 9th-11th of May 2021. Four malls and hypermarkets in Penang were on the list. Yet last night, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that these malls are allowed to reopen today.
Penang Malls Listed on HIDE System Resume Operations Today:
The four malls and hypermarkets listed on HIDE system were Queensbay Mall, Aeon Queensbay, Gurney Paragon, and Lotus’s Penang (E-gate).
Following Chow’s announcement last night, these premises are allowed to reopen today. He said that the decision was discussed and made in a national Covid-19 management meeting chaired by the Prime Minister virtually.
He added that the HIDE system is not a sign of an actual Covid-19 cluster of the location, but an early warning system. Besides, these malls have already carried out sanitization in full.
Toshiba TEC Malaysia Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, an electronics factory in Bayan Lepas was also listed in the HIDE system. There’s no update from the factory as of current.
