Remember a few months back when one of Penang’s famous street food, Air Itam Laksa announced that they will be going on a hiatus? Well, if you have been missing Uncle’s piping hot Laksa, then we bring you good news. They are resuming operations from today onwards, the 4th of December 2021.
Air Itam Laksa In Penang Is Finally Back!
Air Itam Laksa has long been a favourite among many locals and tourists since it was established back in 1955. It’s a 66-year-old gem that’s close to the hearts of many. This is why when in Air Itam, the Laksa is one spot that you definitely need to visit.

Ever since the closure announcement in May, locals, and tourists were forced to bid farewell to this legendary Penang street food. But now, they’re back in business again! Posted on YB Joseph Ng’s official Facebook page, several photos of preparation works were seen. One of them includes Uncle hanging a sign that reads Laksa.

According to YB Joseph, a special arrangement was made whereby Air Itam Laksa will only operate during the weekends starting in December 2021.
