Workers Travelling Daily Between Penang – Kedah Will Not Require Official Police Permission

Now that the interstate travel is once more allowed, more workplaces are starting to operate as usual. Sadly not everyone works and live in the same state. This forces such people to assume that they can’t travel to work without official permission from the police. Thankfully, the Seberang Perai Utara District police are quick to resolve this misunderstanding.

Worker’s ID Or Letter From Employer Is Good Enough

Basically this rumours puts everyone on edge; if your work requires you to travel between states every day, you need a special letter of permission from the police before crossing borders. Well, thankfully it remains as a rumour. Recently, Chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said that the workers in question don’t have to go to the police station for any verification.

“As long as the staff can show their workers’ ID (identification card) and letter from their employer, it should be good enough.” He also said that the permissions are only required for emergency and medical matters. “As well as for married couples who are separated by states to meet,”

The Police Will Not Ask You To Turn Around

So don’t worry and go about your daily business as usual. Just make sure that you have the required documents as proof of your travel. This could probably be a step to reduce the number of people visiting police stations every day. Prepare the required documents beforehand and travel with ease.
