Four backlanes of Kampung Malabar, Armenian Street and Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling are also given a makeover. Once dark and shady, these alleys are now bright and beautiful. This is part of the government’s effort to create pathways for pedestrians and bicycle that are 9 kilometers long.

It is such a relief to see that we’ll no longer have to walk on dark and dirty alleys. MBPP hopes that by beautifying these places, there’ll be more green spaces in the city. These alleys could also potentially be a new spot for leisure and socializing.
