Hiking Trails In Penang Finally Reopen To The Public During MCO 2.0

Since MCO 2.0 started, public parks around Penang had to be closed. However, starting Monday, public parks under both the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP), and the Botanic Gardens in Waterfall Road are allowed to open during the movement control order (MCO). In other words, we can finally stretch our legs at public parks.

As said by the Penang Youth and Sports Committee chairman, Soon Lip Chee, hiking is now allowed in certain areas in Penang. However, there are several guidelines that we should follow to ensure everyone’s safety. Soon insisted that we must follow the SOPs when hiking. “Those who are at the parks for jogs or walks should leave after completing their exercises and workouts,”

It is always a good thing to practice a healthy lifestyle, but remember friends to adhere to the strict SOPs. Penang is still dyed in red so please be extra careful whenever you are out and about. Avoid exercising in groups and leave immediately once you are done, okay?
