Kopi Butter at Bee Ghah Kopitiam was first introduced 80 years ago. Today, the coffee shop is currently helmed by the 2nd generation of the owner, Mr. Teoh. He mentioned that his father introduced the queer combination of coffee and butter because the older generation enjoyed the taste of butter in their cup of coffee.

To this day, each cup of coffee is hand-brewed using a cloth coffee strainer. Additionally, local coffee powder is used before adding in some condensed milk, followed by the butter. You’ll be surprised that this combination tastes exquisite as the creamy butter blends together with the fragrant coffee.

While you’re there, pair the Kopi Butter with a series of toasts like Eggs on Toast, Benggali Bread (Kaya or Butter), and more. In fact, the best way to enjoy the toast is by dunking it in the Kopi Butter.

Also, there’s another old generation stall worth checking out in the coffee shop; 67-year-old Daud Nasi Kandar. Signature dishes are the Daging Cincang and Ayam Bawang. And of course, a concoction of Kuah Campur to bring the plate of Nasi Kandar together.
