Bukit Mertajam Market To Close Until 8th June After Reporting 3 Positive Cases

With so many new COVID-19 cases reported in Penang, countless public places have been closed for sanitization works. In fact, just hours ago, Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai has released a statement that Bukit Mertajam Market will be closed until 8th June 2021.

Bukit Mertajam Market Will Be Closed Until 8th June

According to the statement, the closure is due to 3 positive COVID-19 cases in the market. As such, the market will be closed from today onwards until the 8th of June 2021.

Furthermore, Bukit Mertajam Market will be closed to enable close contact tracing as well as sanitization works. Close contacts will also receive a call for swab tests. All merchants are encouraged to abide by the closure and cease all operations until 8th June.

As for the merchants who would like to take swab tests, they can do so at any private clinics and are to inform the results to MBSP. For now, no place is safer than home and if you really need to shop, try doing it online instead.
