1. Noble Experiment

Get your Instagram filters ready, as this is one of the most photogenic bars in Georgetown, Penang. Soak in a charming ambience, Noble Experiment is a new neighbourhood hangout, a diners’ favourite and a come-as-you-are bar where the cocktails are expert but never fussy. Think less pretentious, more fun. Besides the top-notch mixology options and the intimate, low-light ambience, their cocktail menu is huge and the food menu is clutch with its light bar bites.

2. BOUDOIR by Dad’s Woods

Pink light is flattering don’t you know. I just made that up, but it could be. It certainly is a flattering colour and light for interiors and our Instagram feeds. For this reason and for our unwavering love for pink, BOUDOIR by Dad’s Woods shall be your next venture. One of our favourite finds, this bar is too beautiful to put into words. It’s not one of the pinkest bars in Penang, but those sofas totally make up for it and the food lives up to the interiors too.

3. Area Fiftyone

Area 51- US government’s secret location rumoured to have hosted encounters with alien beings is no stranger to all of us, and here’s the Area 51 of Penang. Visiting this basement bar is like rifling around a crazy guy’s attic- a perfect hub for late night socialising that’s equally at ease hosting you for cocktails, some homely comfort food or some late-night dancing.

4. Song 宋

Not one hard-to-find bar. Located just opposite to KOMTAR, Song is the perfect spot for those who want something a bit more sleek and dialled back on that opulence factor. A throw-back to the classic Chinese diners of old, Song focuses on authentic Chinese fare, delectable cocktails and the attentive table service. Grab a snack, a cocktail and, when the lights begin to dim, be entertained by the live bands that play each night.

Coffee shops serving alcohol is slowly becoming a new trend in the city, and here’s a new spot worth a visit. From beans to brew, Slash Pantry is the new spot for you to have your morning caffeine fix sorted and serve boozy beverages come the evening. The entire place is super cosy and welcoming than ever- a proper respite from the madness of the buzzing city. But do note that they’re still at their soft opening stage and only operates as a cafe at the moment.
