This year, Gurney Plaza is throwing it wayyy back with the 70s retro-style they got going with their decoration which portrays a harmonious blend of nostalgia celebration filled with fun and happiness. Travel back in time as you step foot into the heart of the mall where it’ll be transformed into a charming small town of Penang in the 70s. Strolling along, you’ll find yourself captivated by the storefronts where you can find an old grocery store, tailor and a barber shop even. Now, you can experience how it was like to live in your nenek’s era!

3. Design Village

Drive over to Design Village to witness possibly the best recreation of the Malay houses in the past, way to bring up the Raya hype! They totally nailed it from the attap houses to the pondok, you’ll truly feel the Raya atmosphere once you’re there, with dangling bright lights lighting up the houses when the moon’s up. Put on your traditional Raya clothes, and get ready for photos!

Bringing the Middle Eastern culture all the way to the centre of Queensbay Mall, completing the masterpiece with a line-up of stalls that replicate the bustling and lively town of that in the movie, Aladdin. We believe for many fans, this is a dream come true. Overall, it was really an amazing feat from them, I mean come on, have you seen the two life-sized camels? They’ve put in a mountain of effort in their decoration, truly only the very best for you guys!
