Move over Baskins Robbins because there’s a new ice-cream parlor in town.  The folks at Merry Me—a dessert cafe located at Lebuh Victoria—are serious about their ice-cream. Let’s be honest, most of us haven’t heard of Kurtos Kalacs until Rollney—a dessert shop located at Leith Street—opened its doors in Penang back in 2017. So, what exactly is a Kurtos Kalac? Kurtos Kalacs or more commonly known as Hungarian chimney cakes are a type of Hungarian pastry where sweet, yeast dough is rolled onto a cone and baked fresh. The freshly made chimney cakes are then combined with one of Rollney’s signature soft-serve ice-cream and topped with your choice of toppings (there are over 15 toppings to choose from).
