5 New Things to Try in Penang This Week

1. Blooms

Back in the olden days where pink was merely just another teeny fish in the colour wheel’s vast pond- how antiquated this now seems. And here’s another cafe which is proving the old fact wrong- and yes, it’s probably the sweetest looking cafe in all of Penang. Patterned plates, sleek couches, and dramatic lighting would be enough to amp up anyone’s Instagram feed. Add appealing dishes and pinkish ball ponds, and you’re guaranteed to rack up the double taps. Their interior is all in shades of “millennial pink”, surely causing a social media meltdown.

Really, though, it’s just a backdrop for toppings- the photogenic likes of beautifully coloured softserve with chocolate sprinkles and oreo gravel arranged in petri dishes on the counter ready for sprinkling.  And yes, provenance is the thing here- their ingredients are of New Zealand’s and Australia’s finest- purists, rejoice.
