1. Toh Soon Cafe

Toh Soon is framed as one of the must-visit breakfast places in Penang and they’ve now brought the road-side coffee shop to a whole new level. Yes, you heard it right! Toh Soon Cafe is opening a new cafe branch in Lebuh Bishop with a wider variety of food.

Besides their signature charcoal Kaya Toast Bread, they will be serving their special Hainanese Robusta Coffee Bean and Arabica Coffee Bean as the 2 main choices of coffee beans. That’s not all, you can get western food, local cuisines and coffee mocktails here too!

2. Sugaa 酥哥 @ Nagore Square

Sugaa is a new dessert shop that serves extraordinary pastries and beverages. All of their Mille Crisp are produced fresh with interesting fillings. They have tonnes of selections and each of them sounds really good. Their bestseller has to be Mille Crisp Series with the choices of Signature Durian, Strawberry Mess and Mango Madness.

Not to mention, their crepe pastries are super Instagrammable as you can capture the multitude layers that spell out perfection. However, good things take time, you can only enjoy the crispy goodness starting from 13th August onwards. There are only fruits tea and cheesy milk cap series available for now. Do check them out!

3. Dream Toast

Dream Toast is a brand new kid on the block that serves mouth-watering toasts with a twist. Their menu features a variety of breakfast menu and the Yam and Milk Pudding Toast is a big thumbs up. It is served with milk jelly which is cool against the summery yam. Each bite is heavenly. If you’re not a fan of yam just like me, you can get other flavours such as Drucken chicken toast and Chocolate Mousse which are highly recommended too.

4. Fried Chicken Master

The Taiwan renowned Halal Fried Chicken Master has finally landed in Penang. Their menu features four main dish – Jimbo Bites, Rice Bento, Burger and Chicken Steak. Don’t leave without trying their Jimbo Bites and Fried Chicken Thigh. The crispiness and juiciness of the chicken will leave you wanting for more!

It’s worth mentioning that it situated directly beside the popular bubble milk tea outlet, Xing Fu Tang. Yes, you can have the best of both worlds – slurping on your bubble milk tea while chowing down really yummy fried chicken. Are you ready to join the queue?

5. Mala Xiang Guo (無辣不歡) @ Burma Road

Mala Xiang Guo just opened their second branch at Burma Road. They serve Mala Hot Pot in two versions – stir fry and soup. There are more than 50 types of ingredients available for you to pick and it will be weighed by 100 grams – Meat (RM 5.90 ) and Vegetable (RM 3.90) upon your selection. You can choose to have it with glass noodles, maggie noodles or rice and preference level of spiciness. If you live for that sensation of gushing spiciness, then you definitely cannot miss this place.

6. Sushi House @ Summerskye

The Famous sushi chain in JB – Sushi House has just opened two outlets in Penang within these three months. This proves that their sushi are no joke, and they really aren’t! The amazing menu features fresh and delicious Japanese sushi at affordable prices starting from RM2.00. Besides, their sushi is freshly made upon order with good quality, healthier and nutritious ingredients. The highlight here is you can get your own Sushi Boat filled with marvellous sushi! 7. The Yunique Tea (御黑堂)

Another new brand into the bubble milk tea scene – The Yunique Tea. All of their milk teas are freshly brewed and they come out with the most interesting flavour combinations and toppings like no other. Their tapioca pearls as the star of the show are all freshly cooked, with the use of high-quality raw material that is easy to be metabolized. And yes, now they’ve just opened their first branch in Penang! Just head over to satisfy your cravings for bubble milk tea!

8. Breakfast From The Barn

Previously located at The Shark Food Court, Breakfast From The Barn is growing stronger as they are moving to a larger and cosier space at Lebuh Carnarvon. The brand new space is absolutely welcoming, and not to mention Instagram-worthy with furniture that makes perfect sense together.

Moreover, they serve a wide variety of western food but a must-try is definitely their signature English Breakfast with the choices of chicken, pork, lamb and beef. The soft-opening of the new breakfast spot is on 7th August 2019, save the date foodies!

9. BlackBall Mini

The very first Blackball Mini had just opened in Penang. Their BlackBall Classics does remind of us the main dessert from the mother outlet, Blackball. It comes with grass jelly, with boba, red beans, and taro balls on sticks as toppings. Trust me, a cup of BlackBall bubble tea will make your worries go away. Not to mention, the taste alongside its look gives a sense of satisfaction to tummies and it’s really Instagrammable!
