The hotel occupancy rate has dropped drastically, while restaurants and eateries are struggling to find ways to stay afloat. The same goes to Yin’s Sourdough Bakery & Cafe when dine-in was not allowed until recently. Hence, Yin’s started a food mart, WholeFood by Yin’s, selling packed items including their signature sourdough flavours.

The established Yin’s Bakery and Cafe in Penang started a food mart called WholeFood by Yin’s. Although they offer food delivery services, they decided to turn their focus on making retail products to relieve their financial stress. Apart from that, employees at the cafes can work in the manufacturing section instead of being retrenched.
