1. Kim Laksa

First started in the 1940s, Kim Laksa serves one of the best Assam Laksa in Balik Pulau. Tucked in a wooden shophouse, this is the only food stall inside Nan Guang Kopitiam (南光). Serving Laksa that comes with a generous amount of mackerel fish meat, it’s the flavourful soup that draws the regulars to come back for more. Additionally, if you want a more adventurous meal, fret not to try their Thai Laksa!

2. Uncle Seng Sotong Kangkung

Located just next to the famous ‘Old Man Mural’, Uncle Seng Sotong Kangkung has been churning out delicious Sotong KangKung for more than 30 years. Easily spotted with a vibrant stall that facilitates a small table, expect to nibble through boiled octopus and kangkung that is drenched with their homemade chili paste. It’s definitely something that makes your fork go in for more!

3. Jia Siang Cafe

Featuring a menu that consists of fresh seafood like clams, fish, prawns, crabs, squid and more, feel free to order these in your favourite style of cooking. But if you were to ask us what’s the best, then it’s got to be their Chinese Shao Xing Wine Flower Crab!

Displaying their dishes over a long wide table, fret not to go around the table and drench your rice with their thick red curries. Originally started in a hawker centre, Luck Pancake is now selling traditional Apam Balik in a mobile hawker truck. But what makes this place so special is their fun flavours!
