Located at Kampung Malabar, this Kopitiam draws regular customers from their delicious Penang Lor Bak and Char Koay Teow. The Penang Lor Bak is said to be on a legendary status especially as it is freshly made and fried on the spot. Its sauce and meat are fantastic! Especially when paired with prawn fritters and chili. Sri Weld Food Court is one of the biggest coffee shop within the banking area of Georgetown. Here, you can find the famous Ali nasi lemak. The rest of the hawker stalls are somehow overshadowed by it, so let us tell you, that the other food choices are not bad either. Despite the insane parking rate, white collars or people working around the neighborhood would often flock here during lunch hour. It has a wide range of food to pick from. Our recommendation? Nasi lemak, of course, beef noodle, mee goreng ayam and pearl spare ribs rice.

This Kopitiam in Penang houses one of the most famous Hokkien Mee. They’re so good that you have to wait for at least 45 minutes to get it. It is only available during the morning, but if you’re here for lunch, you can choose other options such as Laksa, Loh Mee, Bee Tai Bak, and Curry Mee. Their curry mee has a tempting shio bak option as well! Want a lighter meal? The chicken porridge at the chicken rice stall is pretty legit too.

Sin Bee Chew is yet another coffee shop set in Butterworth that is well-known in the neighborhood. They serve out-of-this-world oriental chicken chop, at an economical price. The No.76 stall serves really awesome coffee with cute latte art at a very affordable price. Locals usually pair their coffee with toasts and half-boiled eggs. Their eggs are perfectly cooked using a custom-made machine. Each machine cooks hundreds of eggs at once and the eggs could remain at the same temperature for hours!

14. Lao Shan Tong Bak Kut Teh 老山东肉骨茶

Although this Kopitiam is located all the way in Butterworth, we promise you that it is worth the trip. The Bak Kut Teh served here is really something. They opened up an entire coffee shop just to cater to customers who are looking for their Bak Kut Teh. The dish consists of your favourite ingredients such as pork, breadsticks, enoki mushroom, and intestines soaked in steamy, addictive herbal soup. Besides Bak Kut Teh, there’s also a stall beside selling kickass Belacan Chicken, perfect as snacks.

There are tonnes of stalls selling different local hawker cuisine. The best pick has to be their Japanese Bento, Beancurd, and Lam Mee. There’s even a legit live band during the night for entertainment, how happening is that?
