Ka Bee Cafe serves fish ‘bee hoon’ soup with their monstrous fish. These giant groupers that are caught by the fishermen could weigh up to 200 kg. While only a handful of fishermen knows the location and are secretive about the dwelling of these monsters of the sea, people are suspecting that the spot is where the shipwrecks are in Teluk Bahang which is also nicknamed as ‘Kapal Besar’ (Big Ship). Back in the early 1960s, there was a cargo ship that sank and it is believed that this is where the giant groupers are residing.

A giant grouper could cost up to RM 11,000 and the owner of Ka Bee Cafe would buy it for his fish noodle soup. Ka Bee Cafe can serve up to 15 bowls of fish noodle soup with one giant grouper. Besides the fish meat that’s being used, the liver, maw, and belly will be served as sweetbread. Nothing goes to waste here because every part of the fish is being used for something good.
