Syed Bistro prides itself as the first lamb shank bukhara briyani in Malaysia.

What’s Nasi Briyani

Nasi Briyani is a wholesome rice-based dish prepared with spices, rice (eg basmati) and meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables. The popularity of this exotic dish is attributed to its aromatic flavors and distinctively rich taste.

Rice is more than just a food. It’s a necessity, it’s a way of life and of course, it’s what made us Malaysians. Now add that with briyani, it’s like a match made in heaven.

Lamb Shank Nasi Briyani

Believe me, the Lamb Shank made my day! The highlight of the plate, which is obviously the lamb shank is super delicious, the meat is tender, and the curry’s taste is rich and appetizing to my taste buds.

Besides that, the briyani rice itself is flavourful, and more so when you mixed them with thick mixed (kuah campur) gravy.

The portion is big enough for sharing too. So, if you are a small eater, I suggest you share with your friends or family.

Murtabak

The next dish we got for ourselves is Murtabak. The egg-filled pancake mixed awesomely with the minced meat and onion. We love it so much.

Pro tip: Paired it with fish gravy because Syed Bistro’s fish gravy is super best!

Cheese Naan

Whether you’re at a mamak or an Indian restaurant, it’s always nice to have the option to order a serving of cheese naan. Thus, we ordered Cheese Naan without a doubt!

Syed Bistro’s Cheese Naan is beautifully cooked till fluffy in a tandoor and stuffed with cheese. The best part about a good cheese naan is about its cheese! As cheesy as it sounds, it’s really something worth trying!

Perfect match with teh tarik!

Not forgetting a delicious pairing of curries and garlic glaze along with different types of toppings. Oh ya, the tandoori chicken is pretty average, it can be done better in our opinion.

Buka Puasa At Syed Bistro

We went there at around 7:30pm last night. We spotted a lot of Muslim friends buka puasa at Syed Bistro. Penang Foodie here sending best wishes to all Muslim readers Selamat Berpuasa.

Syed Bistro’s Setting

The next thing we love about this restaurant is its clean and tidy dining area. This is something we appreciate about as eating out, we always wish to enjoy our meal this way!

Conclusion

This place offers unique flavours of rich and original Indian cuisine just enough to feed your soul. We didn’t order their nasi kandar during out visit. We’d definitely try their nasi kandar during our next visit!

  1. Poor service. The cashier is really rude. What is wrong in speaking politely to people? Snapping & getting annoyed at waiters while taking our order. Naan and Char Kuey Teow was good yesterday but this experience is just disappointing. Thought we found the next good-nearest thing but I’m just really unhappy with how the cashier talks especially to my dad.
