After all, the sandwich franchise has been long established in Penang, before the rise of Instagram-worthy cafes. It is unfortunate that one of the longest operating outlets located in Gurney Tower will be ceasing operations really soon.
Subway At Gurney Tower Closing On July 2020
After welcoming customers for more than 14 years, Subway at Gurney Tower will be ceasing operations at the end of the month. The announcement was made via banner hanged in front of the outlet. Thanking everyone for 14 years of support, it stated that it will be closing on July 2020. Not to worry, you can still visit Subway at Gurney Plaza and Straits Quay.
Subway at Gurney Tower’s closure is no surprise as many other outlets around the proximity have ceased operations. The hotel within the same building, The Gurney Resort Hotel has closed down indefinitely, as reported by The Star. Despite closing down at the end of the month, it appears that Subway is still welcoming handful of customers during lunchtime.
After 14 Years Of Operations
Entering into Subway at Gurney Tower, it feels pretty nostalgic as the interior remains the same over the years. Be welcomed with the smell of freshly baked bread and cookies!
