Tucked inside of Hin Bus Depot is a Japanese canteen-style eatery that checks off both good food and great ambiance. Shokudo Niban is brought to you by the team behind Au Jardin and Basil, Le Bistrot.

Hin Bus Depot is a creative hub in the heart of George Town with indoor and outdoor art exhibitions, cafes, as well as a weekend market. Here, you can find eateries like Rumah Kacha, Wholey Wonder, and of course, Shokudo Niban.

Shokudo Niban is a Japanese-inspired Tapas bar that serves a compact menu of small plates and rice bowls. Among the must-try items here is the Unagi Kabayaki Ochazuke. A simple rice bowl with perfectly-grilled Unagi made perfect with the ‘Ochazuke’ element, which loosely translates to soaked tea.

Chicken Karaage Pao Burger is another excellent option here that comes with a soft white bun, fried chicken, tempura nori, pickled cucumber, and Gochujang.
