Several Main Roads In Penang Will Be Closed In Stages This Weekend

Happy Friday everyone! Though the highly anticipated long weekend is almost here, it’s time to plan your weekend ahead as there will be road closures for several main roads in Penang on 3rd and 4th June. The roads will be closed in stages this weekend in order to make way for the PDRM Cycling Event, Kejohanan Lumba Basikal Ketua Polis Negara this year.


Several Main Roads In Penang Will Be Closed In Stages On 3rd & 4th June

According to Astro Awani, the road closures happening this weekend will affect both the Northeast and Southwest Penang Island Districts. Here’s a list of the roads involved:

  • Padang Kota Lama (beginning and end of the road)
  • Lebuh Light
  • Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah
  • Burma Road
  • Kelawai Road
  • Jalan Teluk Bahang
  • Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu and more

Road Closures Will Be Happening From 12am On 3rd June To 1pm On 4th June

According to Bernama, the road closures will start from 12am on 3rd June (Saturday) and end at 1pm on 4th June (Sunday). There will be 17 teams and a total of 204 participants involved in the event.
