For fellow hikers, we’re sure you’ve explored the 328 Rainbow Trail in Penang. Located in Bukit Mertajam, this beautiful trail was discovered back in early 2021 and has been a hot spot among locals and tourists. But, here’s the tea, this trail will be closed to the public for a span of 2 months starting from 15th May 2022 onwards.
328 Rainbow Trail Will Be Closed For 2 Months
The 328 Rainbow Trail is a unique attraction in Penang because it consists of 328 beautifully painted and vibrant rainbow steps. These steps will eventually lead you to the top of 花果山 or loosely translated to Flower Fruit Hill. And, it takes a total of 45 minutes to reach the peak of the hill.

Once you reach the peak of the hill, you will come across various animal sculptures so you know it’s time to take more photos! For those who enjoy taking a soulful hike up this hill while exploring the beautiful rainbow trail, you might just need to put a halt to your plans.

This is because according to 328 Rainbow Trail’s official Facebook page, this trail will be closed to the public for 2 months from 15th May until 15th July 2022. The closure is due to personal reasons as mentioned in the same announcement post.

So if you’ve yet to explore this trail and are thinking of doing it this weekend, then go ahead and do it before it closes on the 15th of May 2022. It will only reopen to the public in July 2022.
