Hello, friends! It’s Friday and unlike usual days where we talk about food, today we’re going to update you on something exciting that’s happening in Penang! A place that gathers all government services, Penang’s first Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) at Komtar is officially opening on the 17th of August! So what does that mean? Well, no more going to several places to settle your electricity bills or road taxes.
UTC With 13 Government Agencies Is Operating On 17th August
Remember those days when you have to go to several government agencies to settle your bills? Well, just the thought of driving from a spot to another is already tiring. While other states like Johor or Perak has all these government services under a roof at UTC, we know many Penangites have been waiting for it to set its grounds in Penang. But wait no more! That’s because Penang’s first UTC will be opening soon!
If you’re still wondering how soon, well, it’s as soon as next Monday! Originally set to be completed by March 2nd, this RM10.38million federal project is officially operating starting from August 17th, 2020. The UTC office is situated in the heart of Georgetown at Komtar and if you’re still unsure as to what’s in this UTC office, here’s the spill:
Second Floor:
- Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN)
- National Registration Department
- Road Transport Department (JPJ)
- Tenaga Nasional Bhd
- National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN)
- Information Department
- Women, Family and Community Development Ministry
- Royal Malaysia Police and health clinic by the Health Ministry
Third Floor:
- Ministry of Entrepreneur Development
- Public Services Commission
- Jobs Malaysia
It’s Located At The Iconic Komtar Tower
Alright! Now that you know about the exciting opening of the UTC office, let’s get into where exactly it is located. Tucked on Level 2 and 3 of Komtar, don’t get lost when you’re there! Operating Hours: (Mon-Thurs) 8AM – 9PM | (Fri) 8AM – 12:15PM, 2:45PM – 9PM| (Sat-Sun) 8AM – 5PM
* Operate daily except on Federal / State public holidays and no rest for UTC except on Fridays.
