As of 29th July 2021, Penang recorded 554 new cases. This brings the current active cases in the state to 3129. Hence, Penang’s Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow has announced that walk-in vaccination will be available for senior citizens in Penang from 2nd August 2021.
Walk-In Vaccination For Penang Senior Citizens Available From 2nd August 2021
Senior citizens who have yet to receive their appointments can walk into 4 vaccination centres in Penang to receive the COVID-19 vaccines. The centers are:
- Millenium Hall (Seberang Perai Utara district)
- SP Arena (Seberang Perai Tengah district)
- Jawi Multipurpose Hall (Seberang Perai Selatan district)
- SPICE Convention Centre (for senior citizens in Timur Laut and Barat Daya districts, from 3rd August 2021) *SPICE Convention Centre is located next to SPICE Arena
In addition to that, senior citizens (aged 60 and above) are to bring along their Identity Cards. This is to ease the registration and immunisation process. On a side note, Penang CM also stated that 51.1% of Penang’s population has received their first dose, as of yesterday.
