This just announced, Penang will be entering into Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan from 7th July onwards. Just yesterday, 5 states have been announced to transition into Phase 2, they are Kelantan, Pahang, Perlis, Perak, and Terengganu.
Penang Enters Phase 2 From 7th July Onwards
In Phase 2, more economic and social activities like hairdressers, barbers, and individual sports are allowed to be restored. Additionally, the work capacity for essential services is allowed at 80%. Interstate and inter-district travel is still prohibited.
There are 3 thresholds to determine the Phase 2 transition. They are the seven-day average of Covid-19 cases, ICU capacity, and vaccination rates.
