Looks like our worst fear has finally dawned on us. For the last few weeks, at least 3 new clusters were found on the island. Specifically around Bayan Lepas. Infecting dozens and the number can only increase by day. Thus the decision to put us on CMCO is timely for sure.
Mukim 12 Will Be Under CMCO Starting 6th – 19th Nov 2020
In an announcement by the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri, the conditional movement control order (CMCO) will be implemented at Mukim 12, South West District, Penang starting from the 6th – 19th Nov 2020. He said that the decision was made by the National Security Council based on the facts provided by the Ministry of Health.
The areas included in Mukim 12 are Bayan Lepas, Bayan Baru, Sungai Ara, Batu Maung, Desa Ria, FTZ3, and FTZ4.
A Total Of 35 New Cases In Mukim 12
Recently, MOH reported that there were 35 new cases in total from that area alone. Considering that the Penang Second Bridge is also involved in Mukim 12, it is only reasonable to restrict the high traffic area. Meanwhile, further information regarding the SOP will be given by the KKM soon.
However, we know that PKPB generally means that social gatherings should be avoided and economic sectors will be allowed to operate accordingly. Of course, it will be best if locals can try to stay indoors as much as they could. Stay safe friends!
