Recently, Penang had one of its worst positive Covid-19 cases yet with 3 new clusters discovered on the island. As we are all aware, the coronavirus is highly infectious so we should not take this matter lightly. Additionally, KPJ Penang had just announced that there is a total of 9 positive Covid-19 cases identified at their establishment.
9 Positive Coronavirus Cases Since 31st October
According to their Facebook page, KPJ Penang one inpatient was tested positive for Covid-19 on 31st October 2020. Following that, 8 frontliners were also found to be Covid-positive today (3rd November 2020). KPJ however immediately transferred the inpatient to a public hospital to continue receiving treatments there.
Practicing Strict SOPs
KPJ Penang assured the public that they will adhere to the SOPs properly as suggested by KKM. All necessary measures will be taken to minimize exposure and reduce risks. Likewise, contact tracing and thorough disinfecting and sanitizing will be done immediately.
Aside from that, KPJ Penang offers PCR tests to other inpatients and promises that all of their staff will undertake the Covid test.
