Roti Canai, Nasi Campur, Mee Goreng Basah, you name it, we miss every single one of them dearly. Not to mention that we are salivating when thinking about their crunchy, succulent fried chicken. Thankfully, we have come to an age where ‘sharing recipes’ are trendy.
Homemade Mamak Fried Chicken Recipe For Savoury Junkies
Being Malaysians, we love our fried chicken. It may come in different variations, but love knows no bound. Since most of us are already halfway to being a full-fledged chef, we think that it would be a great idea to spread the recipe to this guilty pleasure. The ingredients are so simple that you can do it right after reading this article. We should really thanks @sarilparts for this blessing.
Ingredients:
1 Whole Chicken (cut into smaller pieces)
6 Tablespoons of Corn Flour
6 Tablespoon of Rice Flour
3 Stalks of Curry Leaves
To Blend:
6 Cloves of Garlic
2 Inch of Ginger
5 Stalks of Dried Chilli
2 Tablespoons of Curry Powder
1 Egg
Salt to taste
1 Tablespoon of White Pepper
Preparations:
Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients into a container and mix well. Let it marinade for 1 hour or more.
Step 2: Heat up the oil in your pan and fry this baby to a crisp finish.
Tadaa!!! Now you can serve this beautiful fragrant dish to your family members and maybe even your neighbours! It will sure to remind you to the Mamak restaurants that all of us miss and love. This is a great base recipe for fried chicken! You can add other ingredients and play with the amounts of seasoned salt, garlic, and salt and pepper until you get the right combo for you. After the first flour-ing, I put the chicken pieces in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Then I egg, re-flour, and fridge again for another 30 minutes.
