Hotel Equatorial Penang Is Shutting Down After 3 Decades Of Operations

As most of us already aware, the effects of the pandemic on businesses are strenuous. To battle this pandemic, a travel ban is implemented. And this implementation then affects the aviation and hotel industries. In Penang itself, we have witnessed the closure of several hotels such as The Gurney Resort Hotel, Holiday Inn Resort at Batu Ferringhi, and several more. Well, joining in the list is the closure of Hotel Equatorial Penang.

Hotel Equatorial Penang Will Be Closing Before 31st March 2021

While there is yet to be any official announcement, an internal circular has confirmed this news. In the circular, the General Manager, Alan Ong has attributed the hotel’s closure to adverse business conditions due to Covid-19. Additionally, the final day of operations for the hotel will be before 31st March 2021.
