It is the most exciting time of the year to visit shopping malls! Head down to any shopping malls, and you will find the most wondrous decorations in the central atrium. Just last week, we have posted about Queensbay Mall’s delightful winter wonderland with penguins, polar bears, and more! Hello Kitty fans, be excited to know that Gurney Plaza is filled with all things Hello Kitty just in time for Christmas.
We love Hello Kitty
Malaysians are going frenzy over Hello Kitty this week. Just a few days ago, McDonald’s released limited edition Hello Kitty carrier. As you can imagine, it was selling like hotcakes with long queues in every outlets. Indeed, there are so many things to love about Hello Kitty and friends. If you don’t know much about Hello Kitty, here are some quick facts.
- Hello Kitty, also known as Kitty White, made her debut in 1974.
- She was born on 1st November, which means she is a Scorpio!
- Although she is a Japanese character, her backstory suggests that she is, in fact, British.
- She has no mouth ’cause she speaks from her heart.
- Hello Kitty’s weight is three apples, and her height is five apples.
Hello Kitty Christmas at Gurney Plaza
However, if you are a big fan of the iconic Japanese bobtail cat, you may have already known all these facts. Now, it is time to take some photographs with her at Gurney Plaza. In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 45th Anniversary, Gurney Plaza has been transformed into a cotton-like wonderland. Take a look around, and you will find all things dreamy and pink!
The entire central atrium is beautifully decorated with frosted pink Christmas trees! You will also find Hello Kitty and friends hiding in cups on stage, Ferris wheel, a tower of macaroons, and even an igloo. Additionally, you can play some fun carnival games. Pst, it is located on the left side of the stage. Don’t leave without checking out some cute Hello Kitty merchandise to bring home as well!
Snow many events happening, snow little time.
Of course, there are so many events to check out during this festive season in Gurney Plaza. Some of the events include snow shower on selected dates and time, Christmas dance on 7th December, and Christmas market and party on the 21st and 22nd December 2019.
