Breakfast From The Barn Penang

The next breakfast spot that you need to try out in Penang is Breakfast From The Barn. They’ve been around Penang for quite some time, but ever since its relocation, the business has been blooming. What’s really good here is the scrambled eggs that are buttery, creamy, and soft. Sautéed mushroom is nicely seasoned and has a nice caramelized aftertaste. Oh, and they even make their own chicken sausage, from scratch!

Have you ever eaten a dish that takes you back to a certain time and place? It’s almost like the scene from Ratatouille when the food critic took a bite, and he was immediately transported to his favourite childhood memory? Well, Urban Daybreak’s simple Cinnamon French Toast truly reminds me of Christmas. It is pretty strange – considering the ingredients vanilla mascarpone, summer berries, and maple drizzle. Clearly, nothing screams winter here. Urban Daybreak has been my go-to spot for breakfast and brunch simply because I love honest, and good food. Simple ingredients, extraordinary flavours.

Emperor Villa is a newly opened breakfast spot over at Sungai Ara. But, there’s a twist, you’ll need to walk approximately 45 minutes before reaching the peak whereby Emperor Villa is located. Serving a few breakfast options like the classic Toast & Egg with Coffee, you can also find Nasi Lemak and some stir-fry noodles here. So, what do you say? Take a walk before indulging? Oh, and here’s a pro tip: start your walk earlier and try to reach before 8 am to avoid the crowd.

Of course, the Iced Coffee (or Kopi Peng) has a thick fragrant aroma to it, making it an ideal pair with the food here. Known to serve one of the best chillies that perfectly complement the noodles, this spot checks off all the requirements for a classic bowl of Curry Mee.

To kickstart your day, you definitely need to drop by at Ah Wang Cafe, Tanjung Bungah for a hearty Penang breakfast. The crowd here is an excellent testament to the food served; classic Kaya Toasts and Coffee. Everything here is freshly made upon order and it’ll somehow transport you back to simpler times. The crispiness of the toast has this ability to melt upon the first bite and couple that with the aromatic, homemade kaya, a slice will not make the cut. Oh, and you can even bring home a bottle of kaya to spread the goodness around.

This humble stall has been around for 22 years at the exact same spot! To top off a simple piece of Roti Canai, you have the option between Kari Ayam or Kari Kacang. For an ultimate indulgence, go ahead and mix both the curries together!

If you’re looking for some authentic banana leaf rice, this will be the spot for you. There’s also a wide range of authentic home-cooked Indian food that you can choose from such as Roti Jala, Capati, and Roti Bomb. Oh and this place is most commonly known for offering delicious Indian food at an affordable price.
