Ipoh has a vibrant food scene with a vast proliferation of hawker centers, cafe and restaurants. This articles will be solely focused on 3 crowd’s favorites, featuring Ding Feng Soya Beancurd, Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun @ Restoran New Hollywood and Sin Yoon Long White Coffee & Caramel Custard. Well, we know this thought would appeared in your mind, “you should try the custard from Thean Chun!” I know right, but Thean Chun was closed on that day. *finger crossed
Ding Feng Tau Fu Fa
The first stop, we visited to Ding Feng Tau Fu Fa which located at Concubine Lane. We ordered the usual suspect, Teow Chew Tau Fu Fa. It coated with black sugar delightfully and the texture was very silky and smooth. A tips here, the friendly boss taught us to eat spoon-by-spoon (一口一口吃). Bestnya, it’s an affordable grub and taste pretty good in our opinion.
A bowl of Ding Feng’s Teow Chew Beancurb is all you need to combat the hot weather these days.
Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun @ Restoran New Hollywood
Restoran New Hollywood is a Halal coffee shop that famous for its Chee Cheong Fun, Roti Canai, Char Koay Teow, Toast Bread and many more. We were pretty excited to try out the Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun at first, however it turned out pretty average.
Kedai Kopi Sin Yoon Loong
You can literary smell the fragrance of the coffee when you first entering the coffee shop.
Don’t leave without trying the legendary white coffee in Ipoh. To end our journey here, we got ourselves white coffee and caramel custard at Sin Yoon Loong, which really made our day. The custard’s surface was silky and not too sweet at the same time. We love it. On the other hands, the coffee’s taste was rich and with a slight bitterness that fixed our caffeine needs just so heavenly.
IN SHORT
This trip was fruitful than expected, what made our tummy happy was the Sin Yoon Loong White Coffee. Ipoh surely has abundance of good food available and waited to be explored further. We will surely visit Ipoh again in the near future.
