Hello, friends! Entering Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), there are many spots in Penang that are now opening its doors. Despite the good news, it is still very important for all of us to follow the rules and regulations to maintain Penang’s green zone status. Here’s what Penang Island City Council (MBPP) is implementing to ensure our health and safety!
State-of-the-art-technology, “Eyes In The Sky”.
First reported by News Straits Times, MBPP will be using state-of-the-art technology, “Eyes In The Sky”. It is to ensure that Penangites are following all standards of operation procedures during the RMCO period. Nearly 1,000 closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) will be placed strategically island-wide. You will find “Eyes In The Sky” in hotspots around Penang.
So, where will they be observing? There are multiple CCTV control centers around Penang, but the most prominent control center will be located in Komtar. Other control centers include state police contingent headquarters, the northeast district police headquarters, and Batu Ferringhi. Should it be necessary, announcements will also be made from these control centers to ensure social distancing is being practiced.
Ensuring Safety For Everyone
In addition to this, horn speakers and amplifiers will sound off every 15 to 20 minutes to ensure social distancing as well. If these sound instruments are not able to disperse people, MBPP will be making their way to the grounds. As interstate travel is now allowed, it was reported that tourists are making their way to the island. What do you think about this method to ensure social distancing? Let us know in the comments!
