Dozo Japanese Restaurant Hailed From London Is Now Here In Penang

Before we get in on the menu here, let’s go through some background chat so we know more of Dozo’s origins, shall we? Dozo is a popular Japanese brand established in South Kensington in 2011. Serving premium-quality, contemporary, fine Japanese cuisine, they’ve expanded their wings to Ipoh, Malaysia in 2016, and this year, they’re finally here in Penang!

Hon San, an ex sous-chef at the renowned Nobu, Beijing is currently the head chef at Dozo Malaysia.  Having the aspiration to return to his roots,  Hon San creates Japanese cuisines that would suit Malaysian tastebuds.  When it comes to Japanese restaurants, fresh seafood plays a key role in ensuring customers’ satisfaction. Here at Dozo Malaysia, the seafood is flown in all the way from Japan to ensure its freshness.

Sashimi No Moriawase

When dining at a Japanese restaurant, one must surely order their fare of fresh sashimi. And here at Dozo, the Sashimi No Moriawase isn’t just tempting to the eye, but it consists of seasonal sashimi hand-picked by the chef.

Gindara Saikyo Yaki

For an appetizer,  the Gindara Saikyo Yaki which is essentially grilled black cod that’s marinated with Yuzu Saikyo Miso. Using fresh seafood airflow from Japan, this dish is a perfect one to kickstart your meal.

Bibikara Ramen 

Everyone loves a bowl of Ramen. It’s a bowl of noodles that are comforting, soothing, and perfect to have for any meal. The Bibikara Ramen comes with al dente noodles, slices of tender pork belly, egg, and japanese fish cake. These elements are all bathed in spicy tonkotsu broth that has been boiled for over 10 hours.

Dozo Pizza

If you’re a huge fan of Japanese food, then you know that most Japanese restaurants have their own version of a pizza. This applies to Dozo as well, whereby their Pizza consists of homemade sushi rice crackers topped with chicken, eel, mushroom, and cheese. Have one bite and you’ll end up wanting more!
