First off, Central Seberang Perai is now a yellow zone after reporting 4 new cases in the last 3 days. According to Buletin Mutiara, Penang’s Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow announced that the state government, through Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), would work on an ‘Immediate Action Plan’ to prevent further Covid-19 infection in the state.

As a result of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Task Force meeting, MBSP has come up with a total of 13 resolutions. Among the 13, measures include the return of 3091 MBSP personnel to ensure the implementation of SOPs in public places.

In addition to that, MBSP personnel “will also monitor high-risk infection areas closely as well as carry out disinfection in public markets and MBSP main counters on a daily basis compared to once every two days before the yellow zone was declared.”

That isn’t all, dining in at hawker centres over in central Seberang Perai is no longer allowed. Central Seberang Perai includes Bukit Mertajam, Permatang Pauh, Penanti, Bukit Tengah, Bukit Minyak, Juru, Alma, Machang Bubok and Permatang Tinggi. Since dining in is no longer permissible, this means that the takeaway days are back once again.
