Regardless, we should still take some safety measures to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. So, with that, we’ve picked out several precaution steps from World Health Organization. Here are the basic protective measures that we should all comply with right now.

1. Maintain Social Distancing

It is advisable to maintain an appropriate distance of at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. This is because when someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

2. Wash Hands Frequently

We’ve probably seen this everywhere but it really is the best preventive step we can all take. Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. This will kill viruses that may be on your hands.

3. Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose and Mouth

Our hands often touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once the surface is contaminated and we come into contact with it, our hands can transfer the virus to our eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter our body and make us sick.

4. Practise Respiratory Hygiene
