Hey there foodies. It’s no denying that the battle with COVID-19 is an ongoing one. Despite lifting CMCO, this does not mean we are completely free from the pandemic. In fact, it is now up to us to put up a fight and keep ourselves as well as our loved ones safe. Just hours ago, Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP) released an official statement that (1) staff from Jabatan Perbendaharaan has tested COVID-19 positive.
1 COVID-19 Positive Case At Jabatan Perbendaharaan
According to the statement, the said staff last reported for work on the 4th of December. Then, the staff was permitted to work remotely on the 7th of December after a close relative tested positive for COVID-19.
On the 9th of December, the staff has confirmed to be COVID-19 positive. Upon this news, thorough disinfection works have been carried out at the department (15th Floor) as early as 7.30 AM this morning. Jabatan Perbendaharaan will be closed from today onwards until 13th December 2020.
Contact tracing has been carried out and 15 staff who were in close contact with the infected staff have been ordered to work remotely from home. Among the 15, 10 will be undergoing the swab test today and the remaining 5 will also be tested.
As of right now, all common areas have been disinfected. In addition, Bahagian Hasil MBPP on the 3rd floor has also been disinfected.
