It’s not a secret that the COVID-19 situation in our country is getting worse by day. Just yesterday (19 May 2021), we have recorded the highest new COVID-19 cases count yet. With 6075 patients! Looking at the current situation, ATM was dispatched to set up Field ICU and support local hospitals with critical patients.
ATM Can Be Seen Setting Up Field ICU At Kepala Batas Hospital
Starting 18th May 2021, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) has begun setting up and building ATM Field ICU at Hospital Kepala Batas. The site was built swiftly to ensure that it can begin operation this Saturday. Hopefully, it will be able to assist Kepala Batas Hospital in battling the current COVID-19 situation. Especially since most of our medical facilities have exceeded their maximum capacity.
Taking Swift Action After Listening To MOH’s Plea For Assistance
Recently, MOH has requested help from ATM to help set up Field ICUs. Thankfully, Malaysia’s Chief of Defence Forces and The Malaysian Army agreed to provide assistance and is now working quickly to build one in Penang. After all, the ICU beds in Penang have reached their maximum capacity and are in dire need of immediate help. They decided to assist Kepala Batas Hospital because they are currently treating all of the critical COVID-19 patients in Penang.
Able To Take In 24 Critical COVID-19 Patients At A Time
The Field ICU has the ability to place 24 critical COVID-19 patients at a time. Using a hybrid system combining Container Module and Utilities Complex Tent. It contains complete medical equipment and medical forces needed for the cause. Thus making it the perfect pop-up ICU.
