Foodies, this is something we’re very excited to share with you about, you might just know what it is based on the title. Before we go into the main topic, let us explain a little about Century Bay Penang. Century Bay is a private residence / apartment located in the residential area opposite Pesta Penang. It provides a comfortable stay for both locals and travelers and an affordable price.
Century Bay Penang- First Thought, Lobby and More.
From the outside, you might think Century Bay Penang is just another ordinary apartment that looks a bit old, we thought that way too, and we were so wrong. Upon entering, the apartment gives off a fancy boutique hotel vibe instead of being a residence. The interiors are beautifully designed yet remain humble at the same time, but the surprise didn’t stop.
Even the elevator is not a dull metal box, but designed into a cottage-like square box, so cute! There’s even a waterfall next to the guard house, and we mean a big one. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to play with the Golden Retriever sitting next to the waterfall.
When the elevator door opens, we’re greeted with the lobby which is on the second floor. This is the floor that wowed us again and again, with more smiles pilling on our faces. We couldn’t imagine how beautiful the whole place is, as if we stepped into the wrong place. From all the small details you might just know that the owner put a lot of hard work and passion into Century Bay Penang.
Next to the reception is the lounge, where board games are provided. Put your phones and gadgets aside and indulge in one of these games that brings back childhood memories, there’s no better time to bond. Ps, you could also feed the koi fish in the pond, just look around for feeding stations.
Pool and tennis tables is located near the dining area, and there’s free-flow of coffee, tea, juices and biscuits all day whenever your mouth feels the need to chew on something. There’s even a cyber area where you could access the internet and use their computers for free.
How can we miss out the pool? That particular area is so zen, designed for guests to chill by the pool and relax while being surrounded by greens. Look out for a small corner near the pool, they have some herbs and vegetables planted over there. Besides pool, Century Bay Penang also includes a gym and sauna room.
Century Bay Penang- Rooms
Moving on the rooms, we’ll first introduce you the One-bedroom Suite Apartment. The concept is unique, there’s like two suites placed next to each other in one unit. Meaning upon reaching your room, you’ll see that there’s a gate and two doors, so that would be two suites.
The first suite that we walked in has a small living area that could comfortably fit two, and a balcony with city view. You could sit there and enjoy a cuppa while looking out to the view. The room is spacious, clean and elegant and an attached bathroom with bathtub. Even 5-star hotels with spacious rooms couldn’t fit in a bath tub but this? Wow.
Different from the first suite, this comes with the kitchen. This is perfect for couples planning to stay a little longer and want to do some cooking. The kitchen is fully equipped with basic necessity. There’s also a living room and a room with bathtub, but the design of the room is a bit different from the previous one.
This was our stay, the Three-bedroom Suite Apartment, yes the Penang Foodie team equipped this suite. The suite has a minimalistic concept with an European touch to it. You won’t feel pressured, it’s like home far away from home. Century Bay Penang uses white as a theme for their room, which is brilliant because everything looks elegant. This suite has a kitchen, dining area, living room, balcony and three rooms, prefect for a big bunch or family.
This is by far the most exciting room and probably our favorite, the Studio Suite. The concept of it is like a dream house for modern couples, this is something very rare in Asian country. Modern, futuristic design with minimal setting, sunlight bathed open bedroom. This kind of room is what we always see on Western vlogs or movies.
Last but not least, Penthouse, yes the Century Bay Penang even have penthouses designed for families. Just how passionate the owner is? Century Bay Penang has two penthouse, both similar only with different furniture and design.
Each penthouse has two floors, first floor equipped spacious living room, and two dining areas. They also have a private courtyard-like balcony where you could hold your own barbecue.
Second floor is the bedroom, two bedrooms that fits five comfortably and a small reading area. We just love the concept of their bedroom, elegant and chic.
This is another penthouse with different furniture, design and view. If you’re looking for more colors and dislike only white, then this is for you. Both penthouse are perfect for a comfortable family trip.
