This Hidden Gem In Taiping Has Cool Weather And It’s Only 2 Hours Away From Penang

However, if you’re looking for a more exciting getaway to somewhere cold, here’s an untouched gem that requires some sweater. It’s none other than Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill) in Taiping!

Bukit Larut: A Quiet Spot That Lets You Escape The Heat And City Noises

Previously known as Maxwell Hill, this is the oldest hill resort in Malaysia. Flourished with wildflowers and untamed lush greenery, Bukit Larut remains largely untouched with no malls or theme parks. In addition to its serenity and fresh mountain air, it’s worth mentioning its cool temperature too.

With a temperature of around 10 to 15°C all year round, nature-lovers can enjoy fun activities without sweating much. From jungle trekking to bird-watching, explore the Burmese pool near the foothill or discover the tea garden at the top. Otherwise, simply take a stroll around the neighbourhood and enjoy the spectacular view.

Consisting of 8 types of cottages and bungalows, most of the accommodation features simple necessities like beds, bathroom and cooking facilities. Each room is RM60 to RM200 per night, however, the price varies depending on the size and number of guests.
