AirAsia Will Launch Flying Taxis and Drone Delivery Service in The Following Year:
In a recent interview, AirAsia CEO disclosed that they’re planning to launch air taxi and country’s first drone delivery service. Before we dive into the topic, didn’t we already have drone food delivery service in Cyberjaya? If yes, then how is AirAsia the first?
Anyways, as reported in Bernama, Chief Executive Tony Fernandes mentioned they’re working on the air taxi.
“The air taxi will have a pilot and four seats. At the moment, we have our team working on this upcoming service by AirAsia,” he said. If everything goes well, it should launch in about 18 months.
The airline’s logistics unit Teleport, is also testing urban drone delivery service with state-backed firm Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC). The first commercial delivery is set to conduct by the end of this year in urban areas.
