Prawn Sauce Fried Chicken at Macallum Street Night Market has been quite popular among visitors. As the name suggests, the chickens are not just coated with plain flour batter, but coated with prawn sauce before fried. Although fried chicken is the highlight of the stall, other fried snacks being sold are fairly popular too! The crispiness and juiciness are the best of both worlds, best to be eaten while still warm.

This stall might seem like an ordinary chicken rice stall but their giant fried chicken has never failed to amaze Penangites. This stall sells more than a hundred fried chickens every day and people will never get bored with their homemade sambal and sauce. You do have a choice to go for a smaller one if you’re looking to have a moderate portion.

This stall is known to most of the high schoolers in Penang for its fried snacks and fried chickens. High school students would often gather up and buy fried chicken and snacks from him after school. He usually goes around waiting for students, but you can definitely spot him after schools at Chung Ling High School’s hind door ( C Gate). Despite his moving stall with a bike, he carries lots of frozen snacks and fry-ready chickens, do not worry about freshness as he’ll be frying them on the spot.

4. Thai Style Fried Chicken

This stall sells Thai style chickens that make you forget there’s a thing called dipping sauce. The mixed sensation of a  hint of Belacan and Thai marinate takes your taste buds out of Malaysia until your next bite. Don’t mind the relatively smaller sizes, as they are mostly meaty and boneless.

With just RM1 you will be sold with amazingly crusty fried chickens. They are currently selling at Kampung Baru, Sungai Ara and will be closing on 4th of June 2019 (4/6/2019). Fred not, as they’ll reopen at a new location after Hari Raya, which will be announced on their page!

You’ll find the stall surrounded by many customers because he does not stay at the same place for business every day. He rotates his schedule by selling at 5 different places every week. Make sure you find yourself waiting at the correct place and pick your favorite parts of the chicken!

Worry not as this stall is located at Kimberly Street and seeks for customers almost every night. The chicken breasts taste amazing but it’s drier. If you’re hunting for juicy parts, you should definitely go for the thighs and wings for maximum satisfaction. 9. Raffe Nasi Kandar

There are tons of Nasi Kandar stalls out there but this one sells one of the most delicious fried chickens in town! Despite its softer look, it’s actually very very crispy and juicy at the same time. Their fired chickens are always smoking hot and fresh because customers are always filling up the spaces and they have to fry more until they run out of chickens.
