1. Taiping Lake Garden

An iconic spot that is backed with 100 years of history, Lake Garden is a breathtaking place that features one of the most beautiful lakes in Taiping. Grassy knoll that is perfect to spread a picnic blanket, it’s a spot to enjoy the stunning view as the sun goes down over the lake too. However, if you’re someone who seeks something more exciting, fret not to row your way around the lake in a cute paddleboat.

2. Clock Tower

Serving as a police station and fire brigade until 1950, the Clock Tower is now a popular attraction that consists of many Instagrammable spots. A nostalgic place that brings you back in time, Charcoal Factory is an old-fashioned charcoal factory that turns mangrove logs into black charcoal. Located in Kuala Sepetang, this place even has its own tours that bring you across the stories behind of charcoal production. However, if you’re not a fan of exploring the historical aspects of the factory, fret not to uncover this place on your very own.

4. Antong Coffee Mill

First started in 1933 and is still in business, this is a place to add a vintage tone to your Instagram. Upon stepping into the coffee mill, you’ll be stunned by the coffee aroma here. Persisting on a traditional method of roasting using firewood, fret not to taste all their coffee products at their visitor centre!

5. Bukit Larut

Previously known as Maxwell Hill, Bakit Larut is the oldest hill resort in Malaysia. Perched on Bukit Larut, Taiping Zoo boasts an enviable location as well as featuring an extensive collection of animals from the Malaysian Tiger to the Night Heron. First established in 1961, you won’t believe that this is actually Malaysia’s oldest zoo! Additionally, they even have a night safari too! So if you can’t make it during the day, here’s a great place to adventure at night.

Housing a vast collection of items related to zoology, botany and more, these are actually items that are curated by the founder, Sir Hugh Low. Divided into 4 galleries (Nature, Cultural, Indigenous People, Temporary), expect to spend at least an hour venturing into each section!
