1. Penang Yosakoi Parade

What was once a tradition is now a worldwide sensation bringing millions of fans together to celebrate the beauty of Japanese culture through music, performance, and love combined. Come around and join the annual Penang Yosakoi Parade on the 9th of March for an evening filled with cultural dances performed by Japanese troupes and locals, Japanese food bazaar, yukata costumes, cosplayers and a whole lotta fun you can even join and move to the rhythm. Yosakoi meaning ‘come at night’ is one way you could turn a Saturday night up! All the information you need right here.

2. Stray Rescue Fundraising Event @ The Shed, Straits Quay

There’s no bigger love than for our lovely doggy friends. Aiming to raise funds for their furry kids, spend your 2nd Saturday of the month @ the Shed (St Quay) from 12pm-5pm buying things that for once benefits someone (kidding) while enjoying the weekend away with some live performances over a couple of drinks specials dedicated just for this event. With The Shed contributing 10% of all takings to the PGSR (Penang Stray Rescue Society), we reckon your support would definitely do em some good!

3. Ikea Grand Opening

Now we don’t have to head to Kuala Lumpur all the way to get our hands on their Swedish Meatballs! Long awaited by the Northern region troops, they’re finally opening doors on the 14th of March at Batu Kawan, Penang, officially IKEA’S fourth in the country!

6. Movie Screening @ Hin Bus Depot
