The long await is over, 4 Fingers has finally made its way to Penang!! Located on the Ground Floor of Gurney Paragon, 4 Fingers Penang welcomes the crowd starting on the 14th of April. We, of course, went on the first day of opening to dine at 4 Fingers Penang (we kiasu) and here’s what we thought.

About 4 Fingers:

Inspired by the New York’s underground subway, the idea sparked when they discovered the best Asian crispy chicken over there in New York City. Their passion and love towards chicken, especially fried chicken has brought them to what they’re today. There are a lot of myths and saying about the “4 Fingers” logo. Some say 4 Fingers are founded by 4 creative brains, therefore the fingers. Some say when we eat fried chicken, we use four fingers. The myth still remains unsolved, but what matters is the fried chicken right?

The Real Deal on 4 Fingers Penang:

Fun fact: We had fried chicken for breakfast. Yep, we went to Four Fingers Penang in the morning, like 10 a.m. (We really kiasu okay). Guess what? People were already queuing for fried chicken. With open dining concept, it’s an easy-going meal you’re going to have.

So how it works? First you queue and wait for your turn to order. Upon ordering, you’ll be given a buzzer. Wait till it buzz, and your meal is ready so head over to the pick-up counter to collect your meal. They practice fast-food style where everything is self-service.

The highlight of this article, we ordered quite a bit so that we could have a full verdict.

The 6pcs Hot Wingettes & Drumettes combo with Kimchi Fries (RM20.90) was sweet, tangy and spicy. Unlike the Korean kind of hot flaming spicy, this came in mild and exceptionally good. The Kimchi Fries had a decent flavor of kimchi and is appetizing, though editor thought the flavor was a bit dull.

The 6pcs Soy Garlic Wingettes & Drumettes combo with Seaweed Fries (RM20.90) wasn’t shabby as well. The chicken is well marinated in soy sauce and garlic. every bite is crispy, garlicky and salty at the same time. The Seaweed Fries on the other hand was a let down. We thought the flavor was weird and tasted artificial. Both chickens have a decent size, crispy and tender.

On to the last food, did you know Four Fingers Penang serves some pretty awesome burgers as well? We ordered the ala carte B.F.F (RM15.90) in Hot. Upon first bite, we tasted a strong hint of sesame oil, and we loved it. As we indulged, the flavors of the chicken popped. Hot, tangy together with the sesame flavor, it was an oddly satisfying combination. Though we thought price was a little steep for a single burger.
